U.S. Bombs

Covert Action

BY Rob FerrazPublished Jun 1, 2003

Duane Peters has been keeping quite busy lately. Between producing other bands and fronting the Hunns, the hardcore skate legend still manages to keep the U.S Bombs going strong. Their latest release comes after a two-year hiatus and delivers more of the same British-punk-meets-California-hardcore sound, complete with politically motivated and conspiratorially minded lyrics. Drawing on the Clash and the Sex Pistols, as well as any number of old oi acts, and boosted by Peters’ trademark harsh howl, this is a well put together release. They even throw in a lounge-y number called "Phil Spectator” that would be at home on any of Herb Alpert and the Tijuana Brass’s records.
