Banjo-pluckin' Toronto quintet Union Duke have revealed they have more boot-stompin' indie folk tunes coming our way. The group's Cash & Carry slides into retailers June 24.
A press release notes that the new album, their first since 2013's Bandits & Bridges, was tracked within a cabin up "in the Ontario woods." The 12-song cycle is said to weigh in on "love, loss, and a cheap shirt," while sonically the album is apparently informed by "entwining rambling banjos, soaring vocal harmonies, chicken-picken' electric guitars and a fast driving, heel-stomping beat."
You can check out the rootsy first single "A Little More" over here.
On top of dropping an LP this summer, the band have a hefty tour schedule ahead of them. Following a June 28 record release party at Toronto's Legendary Horseshoe Tavern, Union Duke will spend much of July and August out on the road. A series of club and festival shows have been set up between Ontario and BC, and you'll find all of the date and venue details down below.
