Last year, house music godfather Frankie Knuckles tragically died at the age of 59, and now electronic vets Underworld have paid tribute to the late dance pioneer by covering his song "Baby Wants to Ride."
This track features production duo Heller & Farley. They keep it upbeat and punchy, as burbling synth loops interlock atop a thumping drum machine and provide the foundation for a few spoken vocal refrains.
This cover will be released officially on March 31, the exact one-year-anniversary of Knuckles' passing. A vinyl version on 12-inch wax can be pre-ordered here. Proceeds will go to the charitable Frankie Knuckles Fund.
