Laura Hermiston (the BB Guns) and producer Brian Borcherdt (Holy Fuck, Dusted) threw the world for a spin when they joined forces for Hermiston's new side-project Twist last year. The result is a lot calmer than both of their previous projects, while simultaneously encompassing more than just their combined sounds.
Although "Sin Monster" hasn't been officially released yet, this Exclaim! TV session can fill the void.
In this clip, Hermiston performs with her co-guitarist, Mattaeo from Invasions, and a drum machine to create a heavenly soundscape on which her reverb-laden vocals reach sinfully catchy levels. The sound manages to brighten the dim practice space in which the performance takes place.
Those intrigued by Hermiston's new project can catch Twist perform at a select number of dates —including two performances at North by Northeast — around Eastern Canada this summer.
For now, enjoy the closest thing to a studio version you're going to get by listening to "Sin Monster" below.
