It's been a rough year to be a hip-hop producer. Last month, MPC master AraabMuzik was hospitalized after being shot in an attempted robbery. Now, influential footwork producer Traxman has had a similar fate, being shot in a robbery in his home city of Chicago.
The producer born Cornelius Ferguson had $250 stolen along with his passport. He was also shot in the leg.
Dan Quaye, who works for Traxman's label Planet Mu, said that the artist is "in good spirits and on the mend." He also started a fundraising campaign to replace the money that the artist lost. The goal's already been met, but why not toss him a few bucks after having such a lousy weekend?
Traxman released The Mind of Traxman last year.
