Good news if you've been itching for some weirdo math rock: Toronto's From Fiction are doing a reunion show at the Wavelength festival next month.
The band, who started playing out around 2002, caused a few raised eyebrows around the time of their self-titled EP from 2004 and 2006's Bloodwork full-length, due to their energetic and show-stealing live performances. To bring that all back to in a new decade, From Fiction's reunion show will go down on February 12 in Toronto. No word yet, though, on if this means the band will be back together for more gigs or new material.
Unfortunately, the original-sounding From Fiction fizzled out in the time following their full-length, but perhaps the world is a bit more ready for them now. Maybe the band's technical, frantic post-rock sound (think Don Cab getting yelled at by Steve Albini, who, by the by, produced From Fiction's full-lengther) can be accepted by a few more people now.
The Wavelength festival is being held in Toronto from February 10-14.
