Tim Heidecker

"Titanic" (Bob Dylan parody) (video)

BY Alex HudsonPublished Jul 24, 2012

Rumours have suggested that Bob Dylan's upcoming album, Tempest, will include a 14-minute track about the Titanic. Hilariously, musically inclined funnyman Tim Heidecker (of Tim & Eric Awesome Show, Great Job! fame) decided to beat Dylan to the punch by releasing his own epic folk ballad about the world's most famous shipwreck.

"Titanic" is a full-blown parody of Bob Dylan, as Heidecker adopts a nasal voice while singing lyrics about the shipwreck before going on to croon about the James Cameron film from 1997 and even including a couple of verses about the new 3D version.

The accompanying video mostly serves to illustrate the lyrics with still images, but there is also some archival footage of Dylan that's made to look like he's playing the wheezy harmonica solos.

Heidecker wrote on Tumblr, "I can't wait to see how close I got to the real thing!"
