Kendrick Lamar delivered his new LP DAMN. last Friday (April 14), and because music fans can never truly be satiated in an era of streaming and Internet conspiracy theories, rumours were soon abound that the rapper could be dropping a companion LP over Easter weekend.
Without getting too in-depth on the wild Reddit theory, which can be pored over in full here, plenty of fans were still expecting a second record to arrive. Reddit user /u/CousinTyrone was so sure Kendrick's second coming was real that he promised to eat a vinyl record if the theory was proven false.
As you can see in the video below, CousinTyrone was forced to eat both his words and a vinyl record, and he captured the latter on video for the world to see. After simply blending it wouldn't work, he mixed in some ice cream to sweeten the deal and took it all down.
As he wrote on Reddit afterwards, CousinTyrone said he "took A LOT of laxatives to help pass the vinyl as fast as possible. It's been around 16 hours since I did this and I'm still feeling the effects of it. Overall, I do not recommend eating vinyl."
Watch him take it down in the player below.
DAMN. is out now through Aftermath/Interscope/Top Dawg; you can pre-order it on CD here.
Thanks to Consequence of Sound for the tip.
