Spoiler: They're basically just music videos

The Smashing Pumpkins have shared four songs from their upcoming new album Cyr, and the band have also been teasing an "animated series" this entire time. The first two "episodes" of the show recently landed, and as it turns out, they are really just music videos.

In Ashes episodes 1 and 2 — created by Billy Corgan and animation by Deep Sky — are essentially music videos for the band's songs "The Colour of Love" and "Confessions of a Dopamine Addict." Both can be viewed below. Despite their lack of dialogue, they are impressive cartoons that introduce us to a rich, dystopian world.

Cyr is a double album, and it arrives on arrive November 27 through Sumerian Records. The album is their 11th and follows the band's 2018 full-length Shiny and Oh So Bright Vol. 1 / LP: No Past. No Future. No Sun.
