The Scenics

"Do the Wait" (video)

BY Sarah MurphyPublished May 16, 2016

Toronto punk icons the Scenics' original run lasted from 1976 to 1982, but the band rekindled their musical companionship back in 2008 and are looking to give fans a new listen to some older material this summer. They'll release In the Summer — a collection of "overlooked gems" taken from studio recordings between 1977 and 1978 — next month, and before the new album arrives, Exclaim! has got a preview of things to come with the premiere of a brand new video.

The clip accompanying "Do the Wait" features the audio from the album synced up with live footage that originally appeared in the 2008's The Last Pogo, a short film documenting "the last punk rock concert" in Toronto.

Decades on, the song is as vivid as ever. Watch Andy Meyers, Ken Badger and Brad Cooper plow through the melodic punk rock jam in the refurbished video for "Do the Wait."

In the Summer will officially arrive on June 17 and will be distributed via Light in the Attic, and you can catch the band live in the flesh at their upcoming shows listed below. Beyond that, hit play to get your first look at the video for "Do the Wait."
