The Chainsmokers may not know how to spell for shit, but that hasn't stopped them from achieving world domination with their EDM lite pop. In fact, their godawful Memories... Do Not Open album went platinum this week. To further capitalize on their bizarre moment in the sun, they've unveiled plans for a custom Xbox One S.
As pictured above, the duo are launching a custom system complete with a shiny Chainsmokers logo on its body. It's the sort of insignia that'll make this puppy nearly impossible to flip on Kijiji when you inevitably get tired of playing the same few Xbox One games. It also has its own built in light show, which flashes on the console and will undoubtedly distract you from whatever online shoot-em-up you're trying to play.
Regardless, the EDM eyesore caused a great deal of celebration. Aaron Greenberg, GM of games marketing at Xbox, said, "Over my time, I have seen many unique consoles come to life but nothing ever like this one. This is a true piece of art and we're so excited that we got to partner with The Chainsmokers on it." Keep in mind that Piss Christ is also considered a true piece of art.
The two indistinguishable white bros from the Chainsmokers happened to agree. "We were really pumped to work with Xbox on this project and help bring our music to life in a new way, by combining it with the best gaming console in the world," they said. "We knew the team would do something amazing but when we saw the custom Xbox One S for the first time, we were both blown away by how cool the design is."
Watch a video announcing the Xbox collaboration below. The one-of-a-kind system will be given away to a "lucky" fan on September 17.
