Tears for Fears Plot First New Album Since 2004, Reveal Rescheduled North American Tour

BY Brock ThiessenPublished Jun 17, 2016

Today brings a double dose of good news from the big chair. Following the unfortunate news last month that Tears for Fears were postponing their spring/summer North American tour, the '80s new wave greats have revealed the rescheduled show schedule. Better yet, the announcement comes with word that Curt Smith and Roland Orzabal are busying working on a new Tears for Fears album, their first since 2004.

While there's no firm due date for the as-yet-untitled album just yet, it is set for a 2017 release via Warner Bros. When the record does arrive, it will mark the second full-length studio effort since Smith and Orzabal reunited and the first since 2004's Everybody Loves a Happy Ending.

As for the tour, the rerouted trek will begin in mid-September. Fans in Ontario will now get to see Tears for Fears in real live action on September 30 in Windsor and on October 1 in Orillia. Tickets purchased for the original dates will be honoured for the new dates or refunds will be available at point of purchase.
