Surfer Blood are moving on — both from major label woes and personal troubles — and on May 12 will release their album 1000 Palms through Joyful Noise/Fierce Panda. For now, they've shared the new single "Dorian."
This song is classic Surfer Blood, in that it features a pop-friendly update on '90s rock. There are muscular guitars, but the sleepy vocal melody and cloudy-headed psych elements give it a dreamy mood. It seems that the band have benefited from returning to their DIY self-recording methods.
