Supermoon

"Fast Fashion"

Moody pop purveyors Supermoon are preparing to unleash their debut album Playland later this month, but before it arrives, Exclaim! has got your exclusive first listen to LP cut "Fast Fashion."

The Vancouver-based outfit brings together former members of Movieland and Pups, forging a new outlet for Adrienne LaBelle, Alie Lynch, Kate Gravestock and Selina Crammond to channel their musical chops. Their garage rock and jangle pop roots shine through, though Supermoon's off-kilter brand of indie-pop is still totally refreshing.

Playland follows up last year's Comet Lovejoy EP and hears the four-piece serving up "sunny riffs" and "sugary vocals" that swirl together in a mix that is "part hot fudge sundae, part film noir."

"Fast Fashion" opens with entrancing, spiralling guitar lines that get joined by suspense-building percussion before bubbling into a mid-song psychedelic haze of jangly guitars and breathy harmonies. Things pick up again for a dramatic ending, and you can follow the band along on the whole sonic journey by hitting play below.

Playland is out on May 20 via Mint Records.
