With one of the coolest names I've heard in a while, Sunlikestar have created a very slick album that fuses some intense rock with very groovy loops and sounds, giving the band a very contemporary sound. While a few bits and bobs may be slightly NIN-ish, the programmed sound embellishments seem to be influenced more by trance and deep house. "Day Survive" is a muscular example with some very excellent tight playing (drummer Chris Crippin lays down a hot pattern that would make Matt Cameron from Soundgarden give two thumbs up). "So Clear So Calm" is a full-out great rock song that could surely garner some radio attention. A very modern album that will grab the attention of Econoline Crush fans everywhere.
