Sun Wizard/Capitol 6's Malcolm Jack Goes Solo for "Album Zine"

BY Alex HudsonPublished Apr 4, 2013

Sun Wizard singer-guitarist James Younger is gearing up to release his debut solo album this year, and it turns out that the Vancouver band's other frontman also has a solo project in the works. Malcolm Jack, who additionally leads the psychedelic folk-rock band Capitol 6, will release I Am My Own Bewitchment on April 8.

The collection is packaged as an "album-zine," meaning that it's presented as a paperback book that features lyrics and drawings. Each song has an accompanying line drawing by Jack, while the front cover features a painted portrait of the singer by Nick Lepard. The book is limited to 100 copies and it comes with a download code for the digital album.

I Am My Own Bewitchment was co-produced by Jack along with Felix Fung (Chains of Love, Shimmering Stars, Mode Moderne) at Vancouver's Little Red Sounds studio. Check out the tracklist below, and scroll past that to hear the alt-country jangler "Moon Sees the Night."

Jack will release the album with a show at the Biltmore Cabaret on April 8.
