Sum 41 Announce 'Order in Decline' Album, Unleash New Single "Out for Blood"

BY Sarah MurphyPublished Apr 24, 2019

Sum 41 announced a hometown Toronto show yesterday (April 23), but before that concert, the band will deliver a brand new album. Today, they've released lead single "Out for Blood," along with a music video.

The upcoming album is called Order in Decline, and it's due out on July 19 via Hopeless Records. It marks the full-length follow-up to 2016's 13 Voices.

A press release describes the album as the band's "heaviest and most aggressive" to date — a reasonable reaction to the division, racism and hate that's pervading Canada and the United States these days.

"The last thing I wanted to do was write a social or political protest record, and Order in Decline is not that," frontman Deryck Whibley said in a statement. Though he admits, "It's also very hard not to have feelings about everything that's going on in the world."

The record was produced, engineered and mastered by Whibley in his home studio and features his bandmates Dave "Brownsound" Baksh, Jason "Cone" McCaslin, Frank Zummo and Gob's Tom Thacker.
