Best known for their legendary, genre-defining hit "Rapper’s Delight”, the Sugarhill Gang are considered hip-hop royalty. Still, the crew have released little more than their 1999 children’s album Jump On It. since their glory days in the late ’70s. However, in an interview with BBC 6 Music, the crew have announced they’re working on a new album. Better yet, the album is confirmed to include a guest spot from Dizzee Rascal, who joined the band on stage last year.

"He came to the States about two months ago,” Master Gee told the BBC about first meeting Dizzee. "We ran into him when he invited us to come down to his club in New York and we went down there – wow, kick ass show. The tracks were crazy, they were spittin’ real hard and it’s in the works to do a song with him.”

"We've been in the studio with a lot of young and up and coming producers,” he continues. "We’re writing and we’re playing some stuff ourselves. We’re actually premiering and showcasing a lot of the stuff on stage and getting a response. You know whether something is hot or not by the fans who really let you know... It’s hot, definitely. You wanna hear some of the stuff then you gotta come to one of the shows.”
