Like some kind of mutant bastard offspring of PJ Harvey and Gang of Four, these Vancouver-based agit-punk regulars enter their second decade as a band with this bold, brash and ballsy musical statement. Drawing on elements of punk, pop, noise, and art-rock, this third full-length finds the band at its most urgent. Vocalist Jen Throwups tortured howl percolates on the edge of full-bore scream and perfectly punctuates the bands scrappy dissonance. Its a free-form sound that recalls some of the best of the mid-80s Dischord records when Soul Side and Beefeater ruled the roost.
