Here in Canada, many of us discovered the joys of Swedish duo Studio thanks to member Dan Lissvik's collaboration with Young Galaxy on last year's electro-tinged Shapeshifting. Well, recent converts, we've got some bad news for you: Studio have broken up.
As The Line of Best Fit points out, Lissvek announced the split on his official website. He also confirmed the end of the band's label Information, which they formed in 2006.
"Thanks to all involved," he wrote, "See you in another shape and form."
So evidently we can expect him and bandmate Rasmus Hägg to release music under some different incarnation. Whether they will do so together or separately remains to be seen.
Even before the Young Galaxy collaboration, Studio had built a loyal following around the world. They were together for ten years and their final album was 2008's Yearbook 2.
