Dean DeLeo, founding guitarist of the alt-rock band Stone Temple Pilots, has been accused of domestic abuse by his soon-to-be ex-wife.

According to TMZ, Jenn DeLeo filed for divorce from her husband earlier this month. In the court documents, she accused Dean DeLeo of cheating, making violent threats and physical assault.

Jenn said that her husband's alleged behaviour has been going on since the couple were wed in 2012. At one point, she claims Dean took their baby into the ocean "while he was completely inebriated."

Months later, she said she caught him drunk and passed out in a running vehicle in their garage. When she confronted him, she claims he physically assaulted her, threw her around and, according to her, almost killed her. She also alleges he tried to strangle her several times during their marriage, as well as abused her son from a previous marriage.

She added that he bragged about how he could have his ex-wife killed and threatened to take his own life if she ever left him, saying she would find him like late mutual friend Chester Bennington of Linkin Park.

Jenn said she was empowered by the #MeToo movement to finally file for divorce. She is also one of the sexual assault accusers in the case of disgraced film director James Toback.

Dean DeLeo did not respond to TMZ's request for comment.
