Stephen Malkmus Gets Jason Schwartzmann, Sharon Van Etten, Mac DeMarco for New Video
Stephen Malkmus is set to return with a new solo effort called Traditional Techniques next month. He's already announced a hefty batch of tour dates, and now he's promoting the album with a star-studded video.

Directed by Jan Lankisch, the video sees the Pavement singer's likeness get obfuscated by digital technology. As Lankisch explained, "The video was inspired by reading about female singers and musicians who were photoshopped from their album covers by an Iranian music streaming site."

The full list of guests in the video includes Mac DeMarco, Jason Schwartzman, Kim Gordon, Sharon Van Etten, Kurt Vile, Conor Oberst, Orono Noguchi, Eric Koston, Mary Lattimore, Joe Beddia, Matt Korvette, Jake Morris, Polly Roche, Keshav Purushotham, Sharmila Banerjee, Lucía Castellanos, Charlotte Gfeller, Qais Essar, Maple Judd, Lia Wang, Lara Vinciguerra, Pernille Krogvig and Frederike Wetzels.

Watch the video for "Shadowbanned" below, where you'll also find Malkmus's upcoming tour dates.

Traditional Techniques arrives on March 6 via Matador.
