Statues Announce Tour and Recording Plans

Sudbury, ON mod punk trio Statues made quite a splash with their breakthrough album, New People Make Us Nervous, released in early 2007, so much so that the band are planning a repress through Deranged Records, as well as a new full-length for the BC-based punk label. In a post on their MySpace blog, the band stated that they’ve "been slowly working on new songs and have made a deal to lay low through the rest of the fall to get things done.” Not too sure what that means, since they’ve booked seven shows for October and another two in early November.

To kick things off, the band will join the soon-defunct Ergs for their last Toronto appearance on October 10. Then they’ll make the jaunt to Montreal for a surefire epic night with Fucked Up and Dillinger Four. Ten days later, they’ll join Vancougar in Ottawa before some Maritimes performances surrounding the Halifax Pop Explosion. The nine-show run will conclude on November 9 in Montreal.
