Stars have announced a new album and a brief tour. From Capelton Hill will arrive on May 27 via Last Gang and MNRK.

The band have shared two singles from the album: the swooning pop-rocker "Pretenders" and the acoustic closer "Snowy Owl"

The album was recorded in Montreal with Jace Lasek (of the Besnard Lakes) and Marcus Paquin, with sessions taking place at a handful of studios (following not-entirely-successful attempts to record remotely during lockdown). A press release promises arrangements with horns, strings and Britpop influences.

From Capelton Hill is named after the rural area around North Hatley, QC. The band's Amy Milan said in a statement, "This band has always been us trying to navigate what it means to be inside a life that is going to end. And we're getting closer."

This is the band's first album in five years, following 2017's There Is No Love In Fluorescent Light. From Capelton Hill is available to pre-order here.

Tickets for their tour go on sale on Monday, February 21. The West Coast leg includes a Vancouver show on June 4.
