Spy Versus Spy

Little Lights

BY Stuart GreenPublished Jul 1, 2000

Not since Genesis in the '70s has a British band had so many eight- and nine-minute songs on one record (three here). Although musically about as far from old progressive rock as you could get, the second release from SvsS displays a similar love for sonic exploration to help them reach their fullest potential. More an experiment in minimalist, angular rock attack than an exercise in structured pop songwriting, Little Lights is a satisfying and interesting trip for those with the attention spans to handle it.
