Tonight Alright does an impressive job of conveying rocknroll that roves over diverse areas, resembling at times the sounds of the Hellacopters and Queens of the Stone Age. Kram and Janet English share vocal duties and their differing approaches create solid contrasts. The bands overall strength is its ability to harness variations, including a couple of melodic pop moments in opposition to the more boisterous material. As proof of its abilities, Australias Spiderbait skilfully manages to make even Ram Jams irritating "Black Betty listenable through a charged cover of the song.
