Before kicking off a reunion tour last year, At the Drive-In guitarist and co-founder Jim Ward abruptly left the group. And while At the Drive-In's Cedric Bixler-Zavala told Exclaim! earlier this year that it was due to Ward refusing to be "on the same page," the guitar player's post-ATDI band Sparta have now moved on and returned with new material of their own.
A new single titled "Graveyard Luck" marks the first new music from the band since 2012. The track was first shared via the YouTube player below, though has since been pulled from the site.
A post from Ward's official Facebook page also reveals the band's current lineup, featuring returning members Matt Miller and Gabriel Gonzalez. Drummer Cully Symington replaces original beatkeeper Tony Hajjar, who is currently playing with At the Drive-In.
Sparta are set to play a free benefit concert December 16 in El Paso, TX. Further information can be found here.
