Long-running Swedish ensemble the Soundtrack of Our Lives have announced that they will be disbanding after 16 years together.
Forming out of the ashes of Union Carbide Productions, the group formed in 1995 in Gothenburg and found success outside their home country with their 2001 album Behind the Music. The album was nominated for Best Alternative Album at the 2003 Grammy Awards, earning many North American and UK fans in the process.
Speaking about dissolving the group, singer Ebbot Lundberg said: "My idea when we started this band was that we were gonna peak around 2012. Which suddenly is pretty soon!"
The Soundtrack of Our Lives followed up 2009's Communion with their final album Throw It to the Universe this year, while their September 13 gig in London, UK is expected to be their last.
