Aliens? Lighten up! Soccer Mommy has covered Sheryl Crow's indelible dock rock anthem, "Soak Up the Sun."
Currently opening for Maggie Rogers on her North American tour, it's the first release from Sophie Allison's indie rock project since her 2022 album Sometimes, Forever.
Allison is a longtime student of Crow's songwriting, having previously spoken to the New York Times about the living legend's influence. "She has so many songs that are these massive hits that, at least for someone my age, you can't have grown up and not heard those songs," she told the publication last year. "She has a knack for saying something hard, but making it feel like she's ready to acknowledge it and be cool with this hard acceptance."
Listen to Allison's fuzz-filled rendition of "Soak Up the Sun" below.
