Having ridden out the chillwave craze, Small Black are still going strong and have a new album, Limits of Desire, out on May 14 via Jagjaguwar. Once it's released, the band will promote it with a North American tour.
The main part of the tour runs from late May through to the end of June. It finds the four-piece playing a number of shows in the U.S. and making two quick jaunts up to Canada for gigs in Toronto (May 31) and Vancouver (June 7). They will be joined on the way by Heavenly Beat. See the schedule below.
Scroll past the itinerary to stream the softly expansive "No Expansive," a freshly unveiled cut from Limits of Desire.
In other news, the group teamed up with Stillwater Artisanal to create a Small Black-branded beer. This black saison was inspired by the Limits of Desire cut "Breathless," and beer maker Brian Stillwater described the beverage as "a dark black beer that maintains the elegance of the song."
This is part of Stillwater's Sensory Series. Those who buy a beer will get a code to view a live performance video for "Breathless."
