Onetime chillwavers Small Black have continued to expand their sound over the years, and with Best Blues due out on October 14 through Jagjaguwar, they have shared a new song with "No One Wants It to Happen to You."
The song isn't too big of a departure from Small Black's more recent works (like, say, 2013's Limits of Desire). That being said, the inclusion of reverb-laced piano adds an organic flair to the arrangement, which is otherwise filled with dreamy synths, danceable drum machine grooves, thrumming bass and softly cooed pop melodies. It's a pretty yet passive tune.
