Sloan Announce Hit & Run EP, Gear Up for North American Tour

BY Bryan WalkerPublished Nov 18, 2009

Canadian indie icons Sloan are set to release their new digital EP, Hit & Run, named after the real-life experience of member Chris Murphy, who was the victim of a hit and run this past summer. While recuperating, he and the rest of band decided to take the time to write a new EP of material, featuring songwriting contributions from all four members during the course of five new tracks.

As previously reported, the band are making the EP a digital-only release, and come November 23, it will be available via the band's website and on iTunes. According to the press release, Sloan plan to continue using this as a model for future releases, so they can embrace a more spontaneous way to release new songs.

In addition to the new EP, the band are busy rehearsing the new songs, as well as many old favourites not heard live in years, in preparation to hit the road across Canada and the U.S. this winter.

Hit & Run:

1. "Take It Upon Yourself"
