Sleater-Kinney

"A New Wave" (live on 'Letterman')

Recently reunited trio Sleater-Kinney are poised to take over the rock world again when No Cities to Love drops next week. In anticipation of the band's first record in 10 years, Corin Tucker, Carrie Brownstein and Janet Weiss brought album cut "A New Wave" to The Late Show with David Letterman last night (January 15).

The grrrls were in fine musical form as they ran through the new track, injecting it with some serious punch — and kicks. Heels and a silk pantsuit weren't enough to hold Brownstein back from delivering a series impressive high kicks during an instrumental breakdown.

And although the performance doesn't feature quite the same array of special guests as their "No Cities to Love" video, the band prove they can shine just as bright, and rock even harder, without the help of celebrity pals.

No Cities to Love is released on January 20 through Sub Pop. Watch Sleater-Kinney's performance on Letterman below.
