Man, it's tough being a longhair and having to leave the cave so often, but that's what happens when these big metal bands keep coming through town. Case in point: thrash titans Slayer and Megadeth have announced more Canadian Carnage co-headlining tour dates. This time, it's Canadian Carnage East, so those in Ontario and eastward, get ready to rock.
Opening the shows will be Machine Head and Suicide Silence. And even though rumours have been circulating around the corners of the Internet inhabited by metal types about thrash metal's "big four" - Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer and Anthrax - touring together, it would be nice if people just stepped back and realized that it sounds as if that was simply an offhand comment made by Metallica's Lars Ulrich, and probably won't materialize.
But while metal fans wait with baited breath for that super-tour to happen, both Slayer and Megadeth have new discs dropping soon. The former's World Painted Blood is scheduled for a November 3 release through American Recordings/Sony Music, while the latter's Endgame drops today (September 15) on Roadrunner Records.
Here are the dates for Canadian Carnage East:
11/8 Moncton, NB - Moncton Coliseum
11/9 Halifax, NS - Halifax Metro Centre
11/11 Montreal, QC - Bell Centre
11/12 Quebec City, QC - Colisee Pepsi Arena
11/13 Toronto, ON - Air Canada Centre
