On top of counting down the days before the launch of their New Damage Records debut Taiga, Edmonton punk unit Slates are bracing themselves for a batch of Canadian tour dates.
While the band have a few previously announced dates in Alberta coming up this month, with a hometown show coming a few days after the album's February 25 street date, the group's road trip kicks off in late March.
The trek starts off in Jasper, AB, and heads out as far west as Victoria, but then has the band bringing their Taiga tracks out to the Prairies before capping the tour in Calgary. You can check out the slingshot schedule down below.
As previously reported, Taiga is Slates' third LP, and it was recorded with iconic record engineer Steve Albini (Nirvana, Pixies) at his Electrical Audio studios in Chicago. Thematically, the album is said to explore "the concepts of nature vs. man, the refusal to exist within expectations, heroes and being on the road."

Tour dates:
02/16 Hinton, AB - The Woodcutter
02/28 Edmonton, AB - Grovenor Community League
