Skratch Bastid Reveals "Skratch of All Trades" Multimedia Show

BY Alex HudsonPublished Apr 3, 2012

Like Kid Koala before him, acclaimed Canuck DJ Skratch Bastid is getting ready to unveil an inventive new live show that blends turntablism with audio-visual surprises. This show, cleverly named "Skratch of All Trades," will premiere in a few major Canadian cities this spring.

The DJ also known as Paul Murphy explained in a statement, "There are many different sides to Skratch Bastid. From party rocking and video DJing to scratching and production/remixing, I dabble in many roles as a performer. Instead of doing different shows to focus on specific aspects of what I do, I've created an event that will showcase all things 'Bastid' in one place, with a show that fuses together everything that I do: Skratch of All Trades."

He will come armed with his turntables and mixer, in addition to an iPad, surface projector and video equipment. A press release notes that, with the help of Fokus Productions, this setup will "[give] him the means to not only scratch and manipulate visuals in a live setting, but fully incorporate an A/V experience that will show classic music videos, movie clips, viral videos, live footage, and animations completely in-sync with his high-energy DJ sets."

There are currently three "Skratch of All Trades" performances scheduled: Toronto, Vancouver and Halifax. See the exact details below.

Murphy said, "Skratch of All Trades is going to blow you away. I've been working hard over the past year and a half planning out a show that encompasses everything that I do in a tight package. It's going to be a party, a spectacle, an experience you don't want to miss."
