Don't you forget about Simple Minds, who just announced a North American tour, which is apparently their biggest run in the content in four decades.
The 22-date outing runs through May and June and includes two Canadian stops: Montreal on June 17, and Toronto the day after that. See the schedule below. Soft Cell and Modern English will open every show.
"Been a while but absence makes the heart grow fonder," singer Jim Kerr said in a statement. "Simple Minds are ecstatic at the prospect of touring so extensively in the US and Canada this coming spring."
An artist presale begins on Wednesday (January 29) at 10 a.m. local time, with tickets going on sale to the general public on Friday (January 31), also a 10 a.m.
This year marks the 40th anniversary of Simple Minds' 1985 album Once Upon a Time. To mark the occasion, the band have released a digital anniversary version that expands the eight-song tracklist with the addition of "Don't You (Forget About Me)." The band also have an official documentary called Everything Is Possible (which is currently only available in the UK and will get a North American release song) and a recent single called "Your Name in Lights."
