Silver Jews fans rejoice! The once impossible dream of seeing David Berman and his band play live was fully realised back in 2005, when the Silver Jews embarked on the fist concert dates of their then 16-year existence. And even though that extensive set of shows eventually brought them to places as varied as Vancouver and Tel Aviv, followers in Toronto and Montreal werent so lucky.
The recent release of the stellar album Lookout Mountain, Lookout Sea has prompted the Silver Jews consisting of Berman, his wife Cassie Berman, Tony Crow, Brian Kotzur, Peyton Pinkerton, and William Tyler to hit the road hard. Drag City has announced a slew of upcoming shows and yes, T.O. and Montreal are on the agenda. Tel Avivs Montonix will support many dates.
Besides this new record, Drag City plans to release the DVD edition of the film, Silver Jew this fall. So, even though its always pretty great, its a particularly excellent time to be a fan of the Silver Jews.
