Icelandic post-rock dreamweavers Sigur Rós have released a new song. "Blóðberg" arrives with a new video directed by Johan Renck.
"Blóðberg" is Sigur Rós's first single in seven years, and it comes on the heels of the group teasing a new album. This is their first song with returning member Kjartan Sveinsson since he left the band in 2012. (His return now makes them a trio, following the exit of Orri Páll Dýrason in 2018.)
The song is a seven-minute epic featuring the London Contemporary Orchestra, conducted by Robert Ames. It's co-produced and mixed by the band alongside returning collaborator Paul Corley. Hear the song below. It's out through BMG.
Meanwhile, the band are hitting the road starting this week, with North American dates to follow in the summer, including an August 14 show in Toronto. The entire run is sold out.
