Sharon Van Etten has officially announced the follow-up to 2019's Remind Me Tomorrow. The artist will deliver Weʼve Been Going About This All Wrong on May 6 through Jagjaguwar.

The 10-track album "concerns itself with the questions we ask ourselves when we think the world — or at least, our world — might be ending," according to a release. It's also said to explore the "interplay of loss and growth." WBGATAW features contributions by Jorge Balbi on drums, Devon Hoff on bass and Charley Damski on synths and guitars. It will not include recent singles "Porta" and "Used to It."

In lieu of any new music to preview the effort, Van Etten shared the following:

I wanted to approach this release differently, to engage my fans in an intentional way, in an effort to present the album as a whole body of work. These ten songs are designed to be listened to in order, at once, so that a much larger story of hope, loss, longing and resilience can be told.

Van Etten is due to take her new songs on the road this year, performing a number of solo dates this month leading up to her co-headlining trek with Angel Olsen and Julien Baker under their Wild Hearts Tour banner this summer. The latter run will find the trio performing a two-night stint at Toronto's Massey Hall — the only two Canadian dates on the trek.
