Last year, Sharon Jones & the Dap-Kings brightened spirits with It's a Holiday Soul Party. This holiday season is certainly feeling a little less festive given Jones's recent passing, but her legacy continues with a new holiday-themed video for "Please Come Home for Christmas."
The claymation clip was completed and planned for release before Jones lost her battle to pancreatic cancer, but the sentiment in both the song and video all the more poignant now.
"Our friend Sharon has always been at the heart of Daptone and always will be," Daptone Records co-owner and the Dap-Kings leader Gabriel Roth said in a statement. "I am so grateful to her and to all of you for putting your hearts into all of this in so many ways."
Those wishing to celebrate the life and work of Jones can do so by watching the documentary Miss Sharon Jones when it hits Netflix on January 7. Right now, though, check out the new video for "Please Come Home for Christmas" below.
