Silverstein's Shane Told Reveals Solo Debut as River Oaks

BY Gregory AdamsPublished Jan 22, 2016

After having told a Toronto crowd last October that he was in the midst of prepping a solo record, Silverstein frontman Shane Told has now offered up more details behind the release. Branded under the name River Oaks, the project's self-titled debut was issued as a surprise release today (January 22) via New Damage Records in Canada and Rise Records in the rest of the world.

A press release has Told explaining that after 15 years of playing alongside his bandmates in Silverstein, his first record as River Oaks features three songs he produced "on the side all by myself."

He added:

I wrote and played all the parts on these songs, vocals, guitar, bass, keyboards, and even drums. I poured every ounce of my heart and soul into these songs. This 7-inch EP is just the start. Where the project grows from here will be a forthcoming journey I am extremely excited about.

While Told's solo set opening for the Wonder Years at Toronto's Danforth Music Hall had him saying that a full-length was in the works — which Silverstein's management later confirmed — details on the River Oaks album have yet to be revealed.

For the time being, you can check out the new video for the EP's acoustic-assisted pop rock number "Let You Down" below, where you'll also find the record's tracklistng.

You can pick up the record in a variety of packages here on the New Damage site or here on iTunes.
