While it may not have appeared at the end of May, as we had hoped, Shad and Skratch Bastid's new EP The Spring Up dropped today (June 12) for free.
Described in a press release as "the result of fortunate timing, grapefruit Perrier, a shared high school obsession with Outkast's Aquemini," the five-song set was recorded this past April at Skratch Bastid's Toronto studio. On top of the pair's collaborative work, opener "Classic" gets some scratch assistance from the legendary Jazzy Jeff, while the previously previewed "Homie" also features guest bars from Cadence Weapon.
You can stream or download it all down below.
As previously reported, The Spring Up comes ahead of Shad's new Flying Colours LP. Neither album specifics nor a release date has been revealed behind that project, but it's expected to arrive sometime later this year.
