Seven Hearts

Mots De Faux Coeurs

BY Rob FerrazPublished Apr 1, 2001

You know that when a CD is accompanied by a hand written press-sheet that it will either be a piece of utter crap or something interesting. Luckily, this is the latter. Not saying much except that they're from Lynchburg, VA, and that their guitarist recently got out of jail, the music has to speak for itself. These guys were clearly weaned on a diet of '80s Touch & Go noise, like the Jesus Lizard and Laughing Hyenas, as well as some Cramps. The result is 16 cacophonous songs worth of bile and weirdness crammed into 69 minutes. With titles like "Mercy For The Obese" and "Flowers In The Chasm Of Destruction," you get the feeling these dudes need to get out more.
