With CDs slowly plummeting to their death and MP3s being so impersonal, its refreshing to know that vinyl sales rose 15 percent last year. This bodes well for Black Mountain Phonographic Distribution, an offshoot of Toronto-based label Black Mountain Music (Dog Day, A Northern Chorus), which has just set up a strictly vinyl mail order service designed to "to help get great indie vinyl from around the world into the hands of Canadians and vinyl from Canada into the hands of people around the world." According to label founder Tim Lidster the service is "open to anyone who wants us to carry their product, although for some we can't guarantee big sales." In addition, the label will kick off their own seven-inch series set to feature the likes of Kids On TV, Dandi Wind and the Mohawk Lodge.
