Former Teenage Kicks bassist Jeff Van Helvoort unveiled his new group Secret Satanists late last year, along with release plans for a series of four EPs to arrive in 2016. Now, Van Helvoort and bandmates Jared MacIntyre and Riley Simpson are gearing up to release second EP Session Two, and Exclaim! has your first listen to release cut "Youth Eats You."
Driven by a strong rhythm section, there's plenty of fuzzed-out guitar riffing to be had on the urgent new cut. "My neighbour came down and listened to the demo I had done and he said it sounded like Guided By Voices," Van Helvoort tells Exclaim! "So we figured that had to be a good sign."
In support of Session Two's April 21 release, the band have lined up a short run of dates alongside Cellos later in the month before trekking to Detroit to open for Beach Slang in May. Find their schedule and take a listen to "Youth Eats You" in the player below.
