Sam Weber's Shadows in the Road doesn't arrive until September 2 on Cordova Bay Records, but the Vancouver Island songwriter is keeping the cut "August" timely by releasing it ahead of time.
The song is a reflective, romantic folk number, and as it pushes towards a soaring climax, we see footage of an older bearded man on an arduous hike up a mountain. When he struggles, he is beckoned forward by a vision of a young woman, and this soon leads us to the tearjerking revelation of the reason for his pilgrimage. It was directed by Lau Tin Pak.
