Rymes With Orange Crash

After a five-year hiatus, Rymes With Orange has re-emerged with their distinct sound fully intact. In fact, the band has a more realised and full sound that compliments the lyrical content, which has also grown in the off season. Steve Hennessy's keys add interesting textures and melody in an era of strict guitar usage in most rock bands. Lyndon Johnson's voice is as distinctive as ever and he has penned some timely and clever lyrics on this endeavour, like on "Why," a very pertinent song about precarious state of the world and our indifference to it. But after a lengthy vacation from the scene, the band might find music fans require more than sparkled Brit pop influenced music and see that musical grit and brutality is often needed to deliver the message in an obvious world.
