When Romi Mayes announced her Devil on Both Shoulders, the bluesy songwriter only had one show, a hometown release gig at Winnipeg's West End Cultural Centre on May 8. Now, she's fleshed out her schedule with an extensive Canadian tour, in addition to unveiling a new music video.
The outing kicks off shortly after the Winnipeg gig, as Mayes will make her way east later in the month. Following this spring leg, she'll tour Canada's western half in the summer. All told, the outing has 31 stops. See the schedule below.
Scroll past the tour itinerary to watch a video for the rootsy, rocking title cut from Devil on Both Shoulders. The split-screen clip shows two very different versions of the same woman.
"I wanted to use the medium as another creative outlet rather than just your average four minute selfie," Mayes said in a statement. "I hired a lead actress, wrote the script, and assistant directed, so it's a passion project as well. I think the song's intent is amplified by the great cinematography of Paul MacLean."
Devil on Both Shoulders arrives May 12.
