Spazzy UK post-hardcore maniacs Rolo Tomassi have revealed that they're hard at work on their second album. While their brand of intense, everything-at-once hardcore typically attracts a pretty limited audience, the band have managed to cross boundaries, both physical and genre-related. A perfect example of this is that they've tapped groundbreaking DJ, producer and Mad Decent head Diplo to produce the as-yet-untitled new record.
The producer is perhaps better known for the bass-heavy global dance tracks he's developed with M.I.A. and Major Lazer, but upon hearing Rolo Tomassi's debut album Hysterics, Diplo became somewhat obsessed with the band, bragging about them to a number of music magazines. Then, at SXSW earlier this year, he approached them about working together on some music.
Little else is known about their collaboration and how it will affect Rolo Tomassi's sound, but the band's second record is expected to be released in March of 2010 by their label Hassle Records.
